Vision International School

The Almuftah Group opened Vision International School (VIS) in September 2014.

Currently there are 605 students enrolled (December 2018), there are more than 20 nationalities enrolled and 85% of them are Qatari nationals.

VIS is an American curriculum International School educating primary grades through the twelfth grade.

VIS is committed to preparing students for life, while providing an academic environment focused on addressing established learning results which include: shaping local leaders, global learning, 21st century learning, and creative individuals.

VIS aims to develop leadership skills, raise awareness and teach the culture and traditions of Qatar. Furthermore, VIS is a Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) authorized school and a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). VIS is the only single gender American curriculum school in Qatar. It has three divisions which are: early childhood (PK, KG1, KG2, Grade 1) Boys’ (Grades 2-12) and Girls’ (Grades 2-12).

VIS credits its success due to the reputation of Almuftah Group in Qatar. VIS teaching staff are western educated, trained and experienced. Most of them are native English speakers and are from USA, CANADA, SOUTH AFRICA and UK holding international degrees.

VIS is pursuing accreditation through the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA-CS).

Proudly, at Vision International School, we are shaping local leaders and global learners.
Mission and Philosophy

VIS – a separate gender, college preparatory school – is committed to preparing students for the 21st century by providing an academic environment in which students learn how to creatively solve problems and to learn independently. In addition, students will learn to express themselves through the fine arts, athletics and a wide range of activities and experiences designed to enrich their lives. We seek to instill a sense of ethics, care and compassion for others through engagement in community service and global citizenship.

Vision International School Objectives

Provide a wide range of experiences and programs that actively engage students and promote their growth intellectually, physically, aesthetically and socially while developing a depth of character that exhibits empathy, a sense of service, moral courage, and humility.

Spark a passion in students to learn and to become intensely immersed in education as its own reward.  This is accomplished by the provision of student-centered learning experiences that are real and relevant to the student, and under the guidance of caring, professional teachers that recognize each child as a unique individual.

Instill global citizenship by celebrating the culture and traditions of Qatar and other countries of the world.  By experiencing the world through the eyes of others, and recognizing our similarities and differences, students become more grounded in their own culture, values, and traditions while gaining a broader understanding and appreciation of human diversity.

Recognize the unique learning needs of each student and provide an appropriately rigorous program for all. Differentiated learning establishes expectations that challenge all students to grow beyond their boundaries under the guidance of a teaching faculty that deeply understands the unique educational needs and capabilities of every child.

Use technology appropriately as a natural extension to enhance learning opportunities.  Students are exposed to and engaged in the use of technology on a regular basis as a means to expand their classroom experience and provide them new opportunities for self-expression and discovery.
