Vision International School is a proprietary school owned by the renowned Almuftah Group. The school is in a modern, spacious, and beautiful educational facility in Al Wakra – a close suburb of Doha, Qatar, on the Arabian Gulf. Our campus opened in September 2014, with 225 students in grades Pre-K through Grade 8 and an eventual maximum capacity of 1200 students in Pre-K through Grade 12. Classes are co-ed in Pre-K through Kindergarten 2 (KG2). Classes from Grades 1 and up are single-gender. The school offers an American international curriculum, Arabic language, Qatari History, and Islamic Studies.
VIS provides an inclusive American curriculum in a separate gender setting that prepares students for an ever-changing world. Through authentic, collaborative problem-solving and independent learning, our students develop a growth mindset and positively impact their communities. We celebrate diversity, foster creativity and expression, and instill ethics, empathy, and compassion.
The school is recognized and endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) within the Private Education Sector. In addition, it achieved accreditation with NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) in March 2023, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to rigorous quality standards.
Our school provides an inclusive and diverse learning environment for students aged 3 to 18, representing over 30 nationalities.
We believe that parents are their children's first teachers. As teachers, we partner with parents to provide each child with the best learning opportunity. We encourage our students to explore and learn in a developmentally appropriate environment by building on their knowledge base, skill development, and understanding of their world and fostering each child's personal learning needs and style. Our program for young learners is grounded in the importance of self-discovery through play. We provide numerous learning activities sequentially to allow students to discover their interests and strengths within a safe, flexible, and respectful learning environment. Our curriculum focuses on ten interesting areas or activities in the program environment: blocks home corner, table toys, art, sand and water, library corner, music and movement, cooking, computers, and the outdoors. The creative curriculum supports teachers to engage and guide children at different developmental levels to facilitate learning.
Our Grades 1-5 students learn through an individualized learning and thinking approach within a rich language and fine arts environment. Our expeditionary learning focus helps students understand the concept of community and the importance of effective teamwork, communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking. All learning occurs within a school community focused on developing independent learning skills through self-discovery, collaboration, and service to others. An emphasis on reading and writing literacy integrated throughout all subjects, a strong foundation in mathematics concepts and skills, the creation of a broad knowledge base and understanding of Science and Social Studies, along with an evolving appreciation of Lifetime Health and the Fine and Performing Arts comprise the Elementary School curriculum.
Our primary goal is to help students begin to consolidate their learning in a manner that will help them develop personal responsibility, integrity, and intellectual character. Additionally, students will be given opportunities to navigate the journey from childhood to pre-adolescence in a safe, secure, and respectful environment. We will work with students and parents in partnership to help them broaden and deepen their knowledge and understanding in core academic content areas and further develop and refine their intra and interpersonal communication skills. The learning environment will allow them to apply their knowledge, skills, talents, and interests intellectually and physically, individually and collaboratively. These learning experiences are intended to enhance their competence and tolerance for diversity of opinions and approaches to solution finding and to teach various problem-solving methods through applying their knowledge and skills to life experiences.
We are an entire high school with many course offerings, and we graduated our first group of seniors in the spring of 2019. The College Board approves us to offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses and is working to expand our program each year. In addition, we offer college credits through higher-level classes in partnership with the State University of NY. We have a substantial career Pathways Program for Business Studies and Mass Communications. At VIS, high school students are immersed in rigorous, 21st-century learning environments through carefully crafted curricula, skillfully designed data-driven instruction, and meaningful assessments.

- Spark students' passion to learn and become intensely immersed in education as its reward. This is accomplished by providing student-centered learning experiences that are real and relevant to the student and under the guidance of caring, professional teachers who recognize each child as unique.
- Instill global citizenship by celebrating the culture and traditions of Qatar and other countries. By experiencing the world through the eyes of others and recognizing our similarities and differences, students become more grounded in their own culture, values, and traditions while gaining a broader understanding and appreciation of human diversity.
- Recognize the unique learning needs of each student and provide an appropriately rigorous program for all. Differentiated learning establishes expectations that challenge all students to grow beyond their boundaries under the guidance of a teaching faculty that deeply understands every child's unique educational needs and capabilities.
- Use technology appropriately as a natural extension to enhance learning opportunities. Students are regularly exposed to and engaged in the use of technology as a means to expand their classroom experience and provide them with new opportunities for self-expression and discovery.
